CELEBRATING 100 YRS OF THE RADIO SOCIETY OF GREAT BRITAIN

RADIO GROUPS AROUND GREAT BRITAIN ARE TAKING IT IN TURNS TO OPERATE THE CENTENARY CALLSIGN.

WE TOOK OUR TURN ON 27/02/2013 AND LOGGED IN EXCESS OF 500 CALLS ON HF VOICE, HF CW AND PSK 31 OPERATIONS.

OPERATED FROM THE NEW SUNNYSIDE CLUB, GRANT STREET, CLEETHORPES.

We had initially hoped to operate for the full 24 hours but after setting up we found the bands to be dead quiet, so at 0100 approx we decided to reconvene at 0600 hrs and recharge batteries ready for a run through to midnight. We ended up shutting down approx 2200 hrs as the bands had dropped off again.

We even managed to log one of our members Dave G3TBK doing his special event J88DR from St Vincent on various modes.

All that attended had a fantastic time (as you will see from the following pics) and suprise help from some of our distance members who turned up to help out on CW.  A couple of fine gentlemen. The speed they work CW gives us all something to aspire to.

Operations on the day were under strict supervision of NOV holder Adrian G1BRB (chairman) .

Special thanks to our FINE hosts (yet again) Frances and Dave M0KWK Hall for keeping us going with refreshments and the odd matchstick HI, and we cant forget station mascot Sunny, the clubs adopted cat. Fortunately she didn't call CQ this time on PSK.
